Biography

Nick Powell has been working as a photographer for over 25 years. Past clients include British Gas, Marks & Spencer, Ford and Trek USA cycles. One of the first UK photographers to use digital cameras, he works mainly for catalogues and brochures – with some related advertising – shooting seasonal ranges in the clothing, footwear and jewellery industry.

Current clients include CAT, Ben Sherman, Harley Davidson and Gecko. Recent projects also include a book on Rathbone china, documenting all 4000 houses in Hampstead Garden Suburb and, over the past ten years, working with Town Centre Managers to promote shopping in towns and cities (Guildford, Bath, St Albans…). For the latter project, all the production and design is done in-house; Nick Powell Associates grew out of a ‘complete package offer’ and is available to anyone wanting a finished catalogue from one source. A monograph for artist Celia Washington has been very well received and we would welcome similar projects from other artists Otherwise, Nick tends to specialise in cut-out images, with or without drop shadows.
